INOVASAUN BA KOMUNIDADE

(F-SIK)

Background  

Fundasaun Sai Inovasaun ba Komunidade (F-SIK) was established by students who are currently studying in the University and by other volunteers, all with the objectives to share information or give basic training to communities in the rural area particularly discussing about the field of agriculture and health communitarian as well as in promoting non-formal education through the advocacy. This Foundation (F-SIK) was established on 27 August 2011. The objective of those students is to implement these relevant activities in order to respond accordingly to the needs of the community.  This foundation was first established by the name Fundasaun SIKONE  (Sai Inovasaun ba Komunidade). However, with the consultation to different channels like NGO FORUM Timor Leste (FONGTIL), an ensconce for the other NGOs in Timor Leste on June 17, 2012, it was transformed  to  F-SIK or “Fundasaun Sai Inovasaun ba Komunidade” which can be further translated to The Innovation for the Community Foundation. The FONGTIL itself has a network with other local NGOs like CBO’s, National and International NGO in Timor Leste, etc. in the country. Before the establishment and preparation of F-SIK, all staff had joined the training for the capacity building about the organization development which was given by the local NGO from Liquiça, the NETIL NGO (Nova Esperansa Timor Leste) and  Yayasan Rai Maran.

  

Vision

To strengthen the community and to reduce the poverty in the rural area hence to develop and utilize the information for guarantying the community life in the base for social equality and sustainability.

Mission

1.    To strengthen community for rural development.

2.    To strengthen and expand the community’s capacity in the field of Agriculture, Education, Health Communitarian and Economic development. 

3.    To serve as a guideline to the community for rural development.

                

Goal

F-SIK will serve as a community’s guideline to transform people’s lives, to promote defensive agriculture sustainability, good health and sustainable development.   

Specific Objectives

1.       To strengthen professionalism about community and capacity building.

2.       To develop the community in accessing the information.

3.       To be a support in preparing future human resources.

The programs :

1.          Strengthening  and developing agriculture sustainability

This community program is able to access information about how to develop agriculture sustainability by not destroying the environment. This program also promotes to the community to surge livestock training, agriculture processing and suitable planning in organizing the community for the implementation of horticulture.

2.          Health  Community Program  

       Promoting and sharing information about HIV/AIDS virus, organ reproduction and nutrition as well as promoting good health hygiene style for children, youth, students and the community.

3.             Non-formal education  Promotion through advocacy

          Encourage the community, students, youth and local authorities to participate actively on the capacity building program in the aim of strengthening and developing villagers in the rural areas for them to understand about social access audit and monitoring and evaluation activity implementation in the village. It also includes certain training about transformative leadership and the like.

       

         All staff of F-SIK voluntarily implements this program with their initiative. There is no any permanent donator who can help run this program. This foundation has been seeking for donators to support this program in the affordable way.  

         The Fundasaun Sai Inovasaun ba Komunidade (F-SIK) had worked with the international volunteer staff from the Philippines with the goal to support F-SIK’s staff in motivation, training and supporting capacity program in the base.
